Words Of Thanks From The Mayor

Yesterday, along with staff and volunteers we delivered some pizzas and water to those residents that remain flooded. I would like to express my gratitude that made this possible. Special thanks to our Volunteer Fire Department, Police Department, Public Works Department, Office Staff, and all the volunteers.

Public Notice - Local Disaster Declared

3/28/2025

Mayor, Gustavo “Gus” Olivares has declared a local disaster for the City of
Rio Hondo due to the heavy rains experienced on March 26 – 27, 2025 .

Press Release - Rio Hondo Bridge Update

3/27/2025

TXDOT and AEP have completed the repairs on the bridge. The bridge is now in full operation. Due to a vehicle accident, the juction box that powers the bridge was damaged and caused the bridge to be closed for repairs.
